An apprentice is a person who is learning a trade or craft by working for a master or experienced worker under the supervision of a master.

Oftentimes, apprentices are expected to complete some sort of apprenticeship program in order to receive journeyman status.

A journeyman is a skilled employee that has been trained to perform tasks in an established trade, such as carpentry, plumbing, or electrical work.

Journeymen can perform those tasks independently under the supervision of a master.

Frequently, apprentices are given a special designation and title, such as an apprentice electrician, apprentice plumber, apprentice carpenter, or apprentice joiner.

We’re looking for an Apprentice to join our team!

Apprentice Duties:

  • Participate in educational training programs
  • Verifies adherence to safety procedures
  • Performs job duties in compliance with all company policies and procedures
  • Keeps supervisor informed of job performance
  • Performs other job duties as assigned

Apprentice Responsibilities:

  • Education equivalent to graduating high school
  • Ability to pass drug test and background check
  • Can perform manual tasks involving strenuous activity
  • Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions
  • Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications
  • Ability to understand and follow safety guidelines

Requirements And Skills:

  • Work with managers on assigned projects as a lead worker
  • Completes tasks according to project plans, including job briefings, equipment setup, materials ordering, daily safety checks, and daily job logs
  • Responsible for maintaining equipment, tools, and workspaces
  • Attends all office and safety meetings
