The assistant site manager (ASM) is an entry-level management role that typically reports to a Site Manager (SM) or a Site Engineer (SE).

Assistant Site Manager Duties:
- Oversee and supervise the work of construction managers and field crews
- Conduct field meetings with subcontractors and field staff to monitor progress and ensure on-target completion of project
- Perform field inspections to review job progress
- Maintain regular communication with both customers and subcontractors
- Develop and maintain an understanding of the project budget, schedule, and quality standards
Assistant Site Manager Responsibilities:
- Assess and document project progress against original budget and schedule commitments, and report to the Construction Manager
- Assist with daily activities of construction, such as scheduling, quality control, and safety
- Meet with customers on-site to assess project progress and resolve issues
- Assist project managers in coordinating activities, and in reviewing change orders, budget adjustments, and contractor invoices
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Requirements And Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
- 2+ years experience in site management of new construction and remodeling projects
- Ability to hire, train, and direct subcontractors
- Knowledge of construction methods and technologies, and ability to interpret technical drawings and contracts
- Knowledge of building code requirements and scheduling methods
