An Audio Video Technician (AV Tech), also known as a home theater technician, understands the technical aspects of audio and video systems.

Audio Video Technician Duties:

  • Assist in the training of other team members

Audio Video Technician Responsibilities:

  • Monitor, maintain, and repair all audio, video, lighting, and related equipment in order to maintain clear and effective communication
  • Maintain equipment inventory, maintain equipment logs and schedules, and regularly schedule preventive maintenance
  • Perform network-specific tasks, such as adding and configuring software, and configuring routers and switches
  • Communicate with product vendors regarding product issues, or problems that may arise with the products
  • Manage audiovisual equipment inventory, reconcile equipment count records with physical inventory, and prepare equipment merchandising reports
  • Maintain and update audio/visual equipment schedule, and order necessary equipment
  • Perform installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of audiovisual equipment
  • Maintain and update inventory of audiovisual equipment
  • Perform computer-related tasks, such as installing and configuring software, and configuring routers and switches
  • Communicate with product vendors regarding

Requirements And Skills:

  • 4+ years experience in audio/video technical field
  • Knowledge of common audio/video equipment and operations
  • Knowledge of common technical issues, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve them
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work overtime, nights, and weekends
