We’re looking for an Automated Logistical Specialist to join our team. You will be responsible for managing our inventory and logistics systems, as well as coordinating with our suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods. Automated Logistical Specialist Duties:
- Oversee daily/weekly/monthly freight operations
- Use routing software, freight planning software, freight pricing software, and other automated systems to track shipments for quality assurance and accuracy
- Manage a freight department and oversee warehouse personnel
- Maintain multi-million dollar budgets
- Develop and implement strategies to reduce freight related expenses
- Develop operational procedures
- Maintain effective relations with other managers and employees
Automated Logistical Specialist Responsibilities:
- Create logistics and distribution plans for daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly operations
- Provision and restock product storage locations
- Manage and coordinate inventory storage including receiving, inspecting, and distributing product, using an automated inventory management system
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure product availability
- Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting, and perform periodic audits of inventory
- Train new employees on processes and systems
- Manage all shipping activities including motor freight, UPS, and FedEx
- Order and process work orders and inventory requisitions
- Produce physical inventories of product and storage systems, and document any discrepancies
- Maintain and update stockroom and warehouse efficiency standards
- Integrate delivery and shipping activities with purchasing, purchasing, and accounting departments
- Report to upper management on inventory and inventory rotation
Requirements And Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree or related field
- 2+ years of work experience in logistics, distribution, and warehouse environment
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Strong analytical and problem solving abilities
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Knowledge of SAP and LEAN principles
