Job Brief:
We’re looking for a Buyer or Purchasing Agent who is detail-oriented and has experience in the industry. The ideal candidate will be able to negotiate contracts, find new suppliers, and manage relationships with existing suppliers.
Buyer or Purchasing Agent Duties:
- Review, analyze, and audit purchasing documents, invoices, and receipts
- Develop and maintain vendor relationships, including negotiating prices, delivery times, and quantities
- Research and report on new and existing company inventory levels
- Identify, evaluate, and report on potential suppliers for future purchases
- Monitor vendor performance, including delivery times, quality issues, and adherence to contracts
- Meet with customers and vendors when necessary to resolve issues
- Manage and maintain product-pricing database
- Plan and organize product inventory
- Ensure adherence to company purchasing policies
- Promote company image by facilitating purchasing transactions
- Act as liaison between senior management and purchasing department

- Develop new vendors and suppliers and establish relationships

Requirements And Skills:
- Proven experience in retail or wholesale purchasing
- 2+ years’ proven experience in a purchasing role
- Strong analytical skills and financial acumen
- Proven ability to plan and implement effective purchasing programs and procedures
- Expert knowledge of procurement principles and practices, including negotiation and contract drafting
