A conciliator is a person who arbitrates and settles disputes.
A conciliator resolves disputes between two or more parties.
He or she acts as a mediator, referee, or arbitrator and works to help the parties reach a solution that is acceptable to all parties.
Although a conciliator can be hired privately, most jurisdictions have laws requiring that disputes be settled by an established mediator.
Conciliators oversee administrative hearings, such as meetings of creditors, child custody cases, and occupational disputes.
Job Brief:
We’re looking for a Conciliator to help us resolve our differences.
Conciliator Duties:
- Coordinate with contract companies to resolve contractual disputes and achieve resolution that is in line with the project requirements
- Review and approve all change orders
- Monitor and document all project activities
- Maintain schedules and budgets to ensure project stays on track
Conciliator Responsibilities:
- Coordinate between parties, resolve disputes, and manage conflicts
- Implement conflict resolution skills to resolve workplace issues involving employees and contractors
- Work with internal teams to resolve conflicts that may arise from job delays, budget overruns, and conflict among suppliers
- Communicate effectively with employees, contractors, and vendors
- Examine and negotiate contract terms, and when necessary, renegotiate contracts, schedules and costs
- Conduct internal audits, and maintain accurate documentation
- Begin and end each day with a positive outlook, and communicate effectively with all employees
Requirements And Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in law or paralegal studies
- 3+ years’ prior experience in legal support
- Above-average knowledge of federal and state laws
- Ability to work independently with little supervision
- Excellent communications skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail
