Criminal Profiler Job Description

A criminal profiler is a person who conducts research on criminal behavior.

Criminal profiling is the study of criminal behavior in order to anticipate future criminal behavior.

People in this field are called criminal profilers.

Criminal profiles developed in the United States in the 1920’s.

The FBI and Scotland Yard’s Scotland Yard have been using criminal profiles since 1922.

Criminal profilers attempt to predict future behavior by gathering and analyzing information about offenders.

They learn about the offenders’ life experiences, motivations, and personality traits.

They use this information to understand offenders’ behavior patterns and to predict future behavior.

Job Brief:

We’re looking for a Criminal Profiler to join our team. You will be responsible for analyzing crime scenes and developing profiles of offenders. If you have a passion for solving crimes and catching criminals, this job is for you!

Criminal Profiler Duties:

• Provide orientation, training, and support to current and prospective employees and partners
• Develop and implement specific programs and policies
• Maintain and update company human resource policies and programs
• Plan and implement training programs
• Manage all human resources activities including recruiting, hiring, supervising, training, and evaluating

Criminal Profiler Responsibilities:

• Analyze and interpret criminal data to draw criminal profiles
• Identify viable leads and develop investigative plans
• Research and compile data from a variety of sources, including personal interviews, evidence, and court records
• Work with law enforcement agencies to close cases and obtain convictions
• Maintain and update knowledge database

Requirements And Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or psychology preferred
• 5+ years of law enforcement or military experience
• Possess excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• Ability to interpret graphic data
• Ability to effectively communicate with others in a variety of settings.
