DataStage Developer Job Description

DataStage Developer is a Java based ETL tool.

DataStage is a platform for data integration, data quality, data masking, data governance, and data virtualization.

DataStage allows data to be transformed, cleansed, and loaded into target systems.

DataStage also includes a data masking component, which allows users to mask sensitive data before loading it into target systems.

DataStage also has an analytics component that allows developers to analyze data loaded in target systems.

DataStage uses a drag-and-drop interface that allows developers to build data integration flows quickly.

Job Brief:

We’re looking for a DataStage Developer who can help us develop a new system. The ideal candidate will have experience with DataStage and be able to work with us to develop a system that meets our needs.

DataStage Developer Duties:

• Develop, oversee, and implement data movement, integration, and transformations using DataStage
• Manage the technical architecture of DataStage
• Develop custom DataStage transformations, ensuring compliance with standards and architectures
• Build and maintain DataStage components, resolving problems, and documenting code
• Assess and utilize emerging technologies and software across multiple platforms and technologies
• Monitor and maintain DataStage performance
• Develop and document technical procedures for DataStage, ensuring regulatory compliance
• Train and mentor junior level developers
• Track and document issues and problem solving
• Assist with project development, including requirements gathering, and estimation
• Develop, manage, and maintain technical documentation to ensure effective support and training of DataStage
• Develop, implement, and maintain best practices for DataStage
• Collaborate with development teams to develop and document DataStage components

DataStage Developer Responsibilities:

• Design, create, test, and implement DataStage programming stages and packages, as well as data flow processes
• Analyze, modify, and recommend changes to production processes to improve efficiency and value
• Work with business partners to implement, test, and debug new or revised products
• Design and create interfaces with DataStage staging areas
• Document and record all processes, procedures, and programming

Requirements And Skills:

• 1-5 years of experience in DataStage development
• Proven hands-on experience in DataStage, ODI and Middleware development
• Knowledge of DataStage ETL design, development and implementation
• Proven ability to design, develop and implement DataStage packages
• Experience in Oracle
