Dog Walker Job Description

A dog walker is a person who walks, feeds, and cleans dogs that are cared for by people who live out of the home.

Dog walkers often provide their services via word of mouth.

They may list their services online, in newspapers, or in neighborhood publications.

They may also create business cards for potential new clients.

A dog walker experienced with caring for various breeds of dogs will be higher in demand than one that only works with small dogs.

Job Brief:

We’re looking for a Dog Walker to help us out with our two dogs. They are both friendly and love to go on walks. If you’re interested, please let us know.

Dog Walker Duties:

• Provide on-demand dog walking services as needed
• Meet and greet the owner and dog
• Walk the dog for 30 to 45 minutes
• Keep the owner fully informed of the dog’s activities and behavior
• Clean up after the dog
• Return the dog home

Dog Walker Responsibilities:

• Work with professional dog walkers to ensure pets are exercised and groomed by walking and feeding them, maintain schedules, and ensure safety
• Perform administrative support tasks, such as scheduling, data entry, and inventory tracking

Requirements And Skills:

• Knowledge of dog behavior, training, and techniques
• Ability to communicate effectively with owners
• Ability to handle a variety of dog breeds
• Ability to walk dogs for a minimum of 15 minutes at one time
