Drywall Finisher Job Description

Drywall finishers are trained painters who work with drywall sheets.

They apply primer, paint, and joint compound to achieve the desired look.

Drywall finishers may specialize in different types of work, such as texture, painting, or finishing.

Job Brief:

We’re looking for a drywall finisher who is experienced in hanging and finishing drywall. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, be detail oriented, and be able to work well with others.

Drywall Finisher Duties:

• Apply drywall finishes to interior and exterior walls
• Apply drywall finishing techniques
• Remove excess material
• Install or reinstall gypsum panels
• Install drywall doors and frames

Drywall Finisher Responsibilities:

• Plan and perform drywall finishing tasks, including patching, texturing, joint compound, skim coating, and taping
• Perform drywall finish work according to company standards and safety policies
• Conduct job safety inspections, following all safety policies and procedures
• Perform quality control checks of all work
• Maintain a clean and safe job site
• Maintain equipment, tools, and supplies
• Conduct maintenance on tools and equipment, adjusting and replacing worn parts as necessary
• Maintain, clean, repair, replace, and calibrate all tools and equipment
• Prepare surfaces for finish work, sanding to required smoothness, and prime surfaces with thin coats of wall primer
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs of light fixtures, toilets, and refrigerators
• Complete daily reports and logs
• Maintain a clean work environment
• Assist in other job-related duties as assigned

Requirements And Skills:

• At least 2 years of drywall experience
• Creative and detail-oriented
• Ability to lift 50+lbs
