Embedded Developer Job Description

Embedded Developer Duties:

• Work with graphic designers and user interface specialists to create and test interactive software interfaces

• Create and maintain documentation

Embedded Developer Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain software applications and embedded firmware
• Design computer hardware, communications equipment, and embedded software
• Develop and maintain computer systems, software, hardware, and peripherals for new or modified applications
• Ensure computer security, reliability, and backup
• Maintain backup procedures
• Perform integration testing and debugging
• Work with standard PC software development tools, such as C, C++, and C#, as well as embedded systems development tools
• Write clear, detailed, and maintainable code
• Maintain code re-use
• Maintain and document all software components, and test for performance and robustness
• Document and document software requirements and design
• Perform quality assurance testing
• Research and resolve hardware and software compatibility issues
• Assist with IT issues
• Coordinate the testing, installation, and deployment of software applications and hardware

Requirements And Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in related field
• 5+ years experience in embedded software development
• Experience with C#, C++, Java, and XML
• Ability to rapidly develop custom solutions
• Experience developing for RTOS’s
