Hardware Engineer Job Description

A hardware engineer designs, develops, and implements various pieces of computer hardware.

A hardware engineer designs motherboard chipsets, microprocessors, memory chips, graphic chipsets, and peripheral devices.

A hardware engineer also creates and tests printed circuit boards (PCBs).

Other responsibilities of a hardware engineer include the design of printed circuit boards, the implementation of hardware design, and the creation of hardware solutions.

Job Brief:

We’re looking for a Hardware Engineer to work on a variety of projects. You will be responsible for designing, testing, and troubleshooting hardware components and systems. In this role, you will work closely with other engineers and technicians to ensure that our products meet or exceed customer expectations. Hardware Engineer Duties:

• Redesign or replace existing hardware components
• Develop and test new hardware
• Perform system integration and networking
• Develop documentation on hardware
• Provide training for hardware and software usage

Hardware Engineer Responsibilities:

• Proficient in mathematics, statistics, and electrical and/or electronic theory
• Knowledge of electrical and mechanical concepts
• Expertise in electronic hardware design
• Experience with AutoCAD
• Experience working with PLCs and motor controls is preferred
• Knowledge of vendor specifications and requirements

Requirements And Skills:

• Design, implement, test, and debug embedded hardware and software systems
• Create and update SW & HW project plans and schedules, including milestones, dependencies, and resource requirements
• Develop, review, and approve technical documentation, including project plans, technical design documents, and test plans
• Implement robust, dependable, and scalable hardware and software systems using industry standards and best practices
• Develop new hardware & software systems from concept to deployment through prototyping, production testing, and integration
• Create scalable software solutions to meet user requirements
• Design, implement, and debug system requirements, re-evaluate existing systems, and propose technical solutions based on potential improvements
• Promote a positive work culture and environment, in support of engineering, legal, and other company departments, to create a positive atmosphere that encourages innovation and collaboration
