Laundry Attendant Job Description

A laundry attendant is a knowledgeable person who answers questions about laundry equipment at the laundry or answers questions about the wash and dry process.

A laundry attendant may be called a laundry attendant’s assistant, laundry attendant’s helper, or laundry attendant’s helper’s assistant.

Laundry Attendant Duties:

• Maintain laundry equipment and laundry area
• Refill washer/dryer soap dispensers
• Refill detergent containers
• Inspect and clean laundry equipment
• Collect, sort, and load laundry onto trucks for customer pickup
• Collect and deliver dirty clothes from customer’s residence
• Perform other duties as assigned

Laundry Attendant Responsibilities:

• Ensure the cleanliness of all assigned laundry areas and equipment in accordance with established facility policies, procedures, and standards
• Clean, inspect, maintain, and replace linens as needed
• Collect and sort laundry according to established schedules
• Maintain laundry areas and equipment according to established facility policies, procedures, and standards
• Assist in daily and weekly store operations
• Serve customers as needed
• Perform other job duties as assigned

Requirements And Skills:

• Ability to perform laundry duties including, but not limited to, folding, hanging, setting, and sorting items
• Proficient in the use of automated washers and dryers
• Ability to operate a floor polisher
• Ability to operate a scissor lift
• Ability to operate a carpet
