Nursery Nurse Job Description

A nursery nurse is an individual who takes care of children in a nursery, including the preparation of meals and their supervision in a nursery.

Nursery nurses often specialize in caring for young children.

Their usual duties include caring for infants and toddlers, helping the children reach developmental milestones, and keeping track of key developmental indicators.

Nursery nurses help keep children safe in a nursery, as well as provide physical and emotional care for infants and toddlers.

They become certified in pediatric growth and development, first aid, CPR, and nutrition.

We’re looking for a Nursery Nurse to join our team and help us provide care for children in our facility. Nursery Nurse Duties:

• Collect, label, and sort seeds/plants
• Prepare indoor and outdoor plants for transplanting
• Assist in planting and transplanting
• Water and fertilize plants

Nursery Nurse Responsibilities:

• Assist in care and education of children, including feeding, diapering, playtime, and nap time
• Coordinate with parents on developmental milestones, dietary needs, and scheduling
• Provide emotional support to children and family members, and assist with activities of daily living
• Work closely with other nursery team members, including assistant nursery nurses, teachers, and volunteers
• Manage children’s’ activities, including arts and crafts, games, and story time
• Keep accurate records on children’s developmental and medical information
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements And Skills:

• 2+ years experience in nursery, pre-school, or child development programs
• Excellent educational programs, customer service, and communication skills
• Ability to work well with young children
• Highly organized, detail oriented, and self-motivated
• Ability to manage schedules, budgets, and staff
