Patrol Officer Duties:
- Investigate and investigate crimes and incidents
- Make arrests for crimes and misdemeanors
- Arrest individuals with outstanding warrants
- File reports for cases
- Work in conjunction with other law enforcement agencies
- Monitor traffic and other laws
- Arrest and detain individuals suspected of traffic violations

- Maintain security at various venues such as sports or entertainment events

Patrol Officer Responsibilities:
- Protect people, assets, and property, prevent and detect violations of the law, and investigate reported incidents
- Participate in community policing activities
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with residents, businesses, and others in the community
- Maintain and document accurate and timely records, and file reports as required
- Perform traffic control duties, including directing traffic
- Assist residents with lost property
- Assist residents with traffic violations
- Apply sunscreen to residents as needed
- Assist residents with parking issues
- Assist with property maintenance issues
- Provide crime prevention consultation and assistance to residents and business owners
- Assist residents with issues or situations requiring attention
- Work independently, as well as as a member of a team
- Stay informed of police-related issues, training, and trends
- Perform related duties as assigned
Requirements And Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree or qualifying experience
- 75% of patrol shift is non-patrol related
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and 2 years of traffic enforcement experience
- Must have a valid state-issued certification in law enforcement, or obtain one within 6 months
