Pet Groomer Job Description

A pet groomer is an individual that works with animals to give them a hair cut, trim, and style.

Job Brief:

Pet Groomer Duties:

• Assist in grooming and bathing pets
• Clean and disinfect the grooming room
• Washing pets, cleaning cages
• Scalping nails
• Cleaning ears
• Keep all grooming tools properly stored, clean and dry, sanitized, and ready for use
• Ensure customers are satisfied with their pets

Pet Groomer Responsibilities:

• Clean, cut, trim, shampoo, and rinse pets, including bathing and handling dogs, cats, and birds
• Polish nails, trim fur, and groom animals’ coats
• Assist in bathing, brushing, and drying pets
• Assist customers in selecting grooming products
• Clean, maintain, and sterilize equipment
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements And Skills:

• Valid first aid and CPR certification
• Excellent grooming and customer service skills
• Ability to work with animals, and both small and large breeds
• Knowledge of animal care, hygiene, and health care
• Ability to maintain a clean work environment
