Research Scientist Job Description

A research scientist is a person who develops and applies scientific knowledge to answer questions about the natural world.

Scientific research generates a massive amount of data.

Scientists then translate data into information.

Information can be used to answer questions, solve problems, and formulate theories.

Scientists also evaluate and synthesize new information that emerges from previous research.

Research Scientist Duties:

• Identify and develop unique research opportunities
• Integrate research results into company’s strategic plan
• Scientists with Ph.D. in chemistry, biology, or other relevant scientific disciplines
• Research scientists with Ph.D in chemistry, biology, or other relevant scientific disciplines with at least 5 years of relevant experience
• Research scientists with Ph.D in chemistry, biology, or other relevant scientific disciplines with at least 10 years of relevant experience preferable
• Research scientist with Ph.D in chemistry, biology, or other relevant scientific disciplines with at least 15 years of relevant experience preferable
• Research scientists with Ph.D in chemistry, biology, or other relevant scientific disciplines with at least 20 years of relevant experience preferable
• Research scientist with Ph.D in chemistry, biology, or other relevant scientific disciplines with at least 25 years of relevant experience preferable
• Relevant, current certifications preferred
• Ramapo

Research Scientist Responsibilities:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in performing quality assurance and quality control activities
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements, such as 21 CFR 11 or equivalent
• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communications

Requirements And Skills:

• Develop and carry out research programs, and dispense advice based on research in the field
• Advise clients on market conditions, technical methodology, and financial issues
• Lead the development and execution of research projects, including design, data collection, and data analyses
• Research and analyze market and business trends, including new technologies, product and production techniques, product specifications, and pricing
• Track business development opportunities
• Communicate with others clearly and effectively
• Some travel may be required
• Bachelor’s degree required
