Surveyor Job Description

Surveyors are professionals who provide professional advice and services to property owners, companies, governments and individuals.

Surveyors are experts in measuring and mapping land and property.

They identify property boundaries, record property information, and supervise land development.

Surveyors are responsible for determining property ownership, boundaries, location, and identifying where improvements should be made.

Surveyors work with surveyors, surveyors’ assistants, technicians, and drafting and mapping specialists.

Surveyors can also be found throughout the construction industry.

Surveyors use a variety of measuring and mapping equipment, including tape measure.

Job Brief:

We’re looking for Surveyor to help us map out the area.

Surveyor Duties:

• Survey land for construction, development, and improvement projects
• Analyze designs, plans, elevations, and surveys to determine locations of structures and improvements
• Calculate and compute areas, volumes, and other measurements of land, structures, or improvements
• Draw sketches, plans, maps, graphs, tables, charts, or diagrams of diagrams, plans, and maps
• Clarify concepts and information by completing necessary research and investigations
• Plan and organize work schedules to meet deadlines
• Perform related duties as assigned

Surveyor Responsibilities:

• Survey land and buildings to establish boundaries, elevations, and areas
• Record site information, including coordinates and dimensions, in survey notebooks, including stakeouts, elevations, metes and bounds, and measurements
• Design surveys and preliminary plats
• Perform topographic surveys
• Perform legal surveys
• Perform boundary surveys
• Perform topographic surveys
• Perform legal surveys
• Conduct research and other analyses related to surveys
• Use CAD tools to create accurate maps, diagrams, and drawings
• Submit surveys and plats to local authorities for map approval

Requirements And Skills:

• Proficiency with field surveying equipment, including advanced GPS technology
• Proficient with automated drafting software, including AutoCAD and ArcGIS
• Ability to work productively over large distances and in remote areas
• Proficient in the use of field surveying methods and equipment
