Truck Dispatcher Duties:

  • Serve as liaison between customers, drivers, and vendors
  • Process orders, coordinate freight shipments
  • Maintain communication between both customers and shipping companies
  • Provide customer support via phone, email, and live chat
  • Ensure loads are completed on time and accurately
  • Maintain daily logs, service reports, and driver performance reports
  • Liaise between drivers, receiving departments, and vendors
  • Maintain strict compliance with all DOT regulations

Truck Dispatcher Responsibilities:

  • Direct and manage all aspects of operations including hiring and training, scheduling, dispatching, and invoicing
  • Train new hires in truck maintenance and safety
  • Keep accurate and detailed records of time, vehicle service history, and miles for all trucks
  • Maintain and update fleet and service records
  • Ensure accurate billing, invoicing, and coordination of freight delivery
  • Assist management in developing, enhancing, and implementing policies and procedures

Requirements And Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in transportation, logistics, business, or related field
  • 2+ years’ experience as a dispatcher (minimum)
  • Knowledge of trucking industry, including dispatch procedures, regulations, standards, and practices
  • Excellent organizational and analytical abilities
