Vascular Sonographer Responsibilities:
- BS degree in vascular sonography
- Minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience in vascular sonography
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology essential
- Working knowledge of general sonography procedures and equipment required
- Working knowledge of vascular ultrasound and Doppler a plus
Requirements And Skills:
- Perform ultrasound examinations and interpret the findings, and report them to physicians in concise and professional reports
- Maintain records and document all patient histories and examinations
- Assist physicians with patient examinations
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures, including vascular and pericardial sonography
- Perform cardiac ultrasound, vascular ultrasound, and abdominal ultrasound
- Perform endosonography, including vaginal ultrasound, and administer local anesthesia and sedation
- Perform fetal ultrasound on pregnant women
- Perform Doppler ultrasound to assess blood flow and tissue perfusion
- Perform phlebotomy and laboratory tests
- Perform ultrasound-guided and ultrasound-directed procedures
