Window Cleaning Technician Job Description

A window cleaning technician is a person who operates a window cleaning machine and removes dirt and grime from windows.

There are two main types of window cleaning machines: the pole, or extension, method, and the frame, or traditional, method.

Frame window cleaning machines have frames that hold the window cleaner’s equipment, while the pole method uses an extension pole that is attached to the window cleaner’s machine.

Window cleaning technicians are also responsible for maintaining the equipment they utilize, which includes cleaning fluid, squeegees, brooms, brushes, poles, extension poles, and trucks.

Window Cleaning Technician Duties:

• Ensure all window cleaning equipment and tools are maintained in optimal working condition
• Maintain operating records of job progress and costs
• Complete job assignments within set deadlines
• Provide assistance as needed, ensuring all cleaning requests are fulfilled
• Maintain accurate records of all service performed, submitting all reports as required
• Answer all customer calls in a professional and courteous manner

Window Cleaning Technician Responsibilities:

• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver’s license required
• Must pass pre-employment drug test and background check
• Locally owned and operated

Requirements And Skills:

• Clean exterior windows of all buildings in assigned territory with commercial vacuums, squeegees, and ladders
• Sheetrock, trim, and caulk all exterior windows, doors, and walls
• Clean and maintain truck, trailer, and equipment
• Protect equipment and company uniforms
• Perform pre/post shift cleaning
• Participate in community service and charitable events
