What is Direct Report? 

The direct report is someone receives orders and policies from the supervisor or manager and then makes the decisions necessary to achieve these goals.

Direct reports are dependent on their managers for project and task assignments. The manager is their primary source of information, guidance, and instruction.

Direct reports depend on their managers for approval and feedback. Managers also review their performance.

Why are direct reports necessary?

Because without them, managers would have no one to manage! Direct reports are necessary because they provide the critical link between the manager and the employees. They act as the conduit for communication and information flow between the two levels.

How to Handle Your Direct Reports?

  1. Have a good communication with them 
  2. Regularly meetings and discussion 
  3. Use adjective tools and software 
  4. Regularly mentoring
