What is stress leave?
A stress leave or vacation leave is a type of leave, normally taken during working hours, for an employee whose job requires them to work under stressful conditions or for an employee whose job involves them to work unusual hours.
Stress leave can be taken as a holiday or as sick leave, and is allowed in the majority of countries, it is also referred to as “mental health” leave.
Stress leave is usually granted if the employee is experiencing extreme stress from their job, such as extreme workload or long work hours.
Why are stress leave necessary?
Work can be a huge source of stress for many people, and sometimes that stress can become too much to handle. When this happens, it’s important to have the option to take some time off to relax and recharge. Stress leave can help provide that opportunity and can ultimately make someone a better, more productive employee.
