What is diversity management? 

Diversity Management is the process of managing diversity in an organization. Managers are responsible for ensuring that the organization’s workforce is diverse, and is inclusive of all people, regardless of race, gender, age, disability, sexual orientation, or religion.

Diversity management is an important part of human resources management and is taking steps to ensure that employees are effectively represented in the workplace. 

Diversity management can take many forms, including providing equal opportunities to employees, hiring employees from various backgrounds and genders, and ensuring that employees feel comfortable in their jobs.

Diversity Management involves creating policies, programs, and initiatives to identify and manage diversity in the workplace. 

Managers must also provide employees with training in order to promote an inclusive environment.

Why is diversity management necessary? 

There are many reasons: 

  1. organizations are becoming increasingly diverse. The workforce is becoming more diverse in terms of age, race, ethnicity, and gender. 
  2. The customer base is also becoming more diverse. It is important for organizations to be able to relate to and understand their customers. 
  3. diversity management can help organizations to be more innovative and creative. When different perspectives are brought to the table, new ideas can be generated. 
  4. diversity management can help to create a more positive work environment. When employees feel valued and respected, they are more likely to be satisfied with their jobs and be more productive.
