Academic Coach Duties:

  • Implement effective coaching strategies to improve student performance.
  • Provide performance feedback to students.
  • Develop and administer performance assessment procedures.
  • Understand and comply with state, federal, and institutional policies.

Academic Coach Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement academic plans for students.
  • Assist with student activities and student development.
  • Plan, organize, and implement curriculum.
  • Recommend and implement changes to curriculum or instructional methods.
  • Consult with students, parents, and staff regarding students’ progress, academic needs, and success.
  • Attend meetings and make progress notes.
  • Oversee all aspects of student discipline.
  • Determine students’ eligibility for continued enrollment or graduation.
  • Manage grade reports and transcripts.
  • Establish and maintain records and databases of student progress, grades, attendance, and discipline.
  • Fulfill responsibilities of assigned courses.
  • Develop and maintain productive working relationships.
  • Develop and implement student records.
  • Produce reports.
  • Cooperate with faculty, staff, and administration.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements And Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Bachelor’s degree in education, sociology, human services, or business.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to teach and coach a variety of curricula.
  • Knowledge and experience in instruction.
