Job Brief:
We’re looking for an Addiction Psychiatrist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with addiction and mental health disorders. They will be responsible for providing care to patients with addiction and mental health disorders.
Addiction Psychiatrist Duties:
- Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate staff
- Administer psychiatric patient care
- Promote best care delivery practices
- Establish and maintain positive relationships and collaboration with staff, physicians, and community members
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for the facility
- Provide direction and leadership to staff
- Advise on and conduct clinical trials
- Consider all options when determining care and treatment
- Provide direct patient care to stabilize patient’s condition
- Give frequent feedback and evaluations to staff
- Author and review relevant literature for advancements in the field
- Provide medical expertise to facility on a variety of matters
- Actively participate in professional societies
- Provide ongoing training of staff
- Perform other duties as assigned
Addiction Psychiatrist Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with other members of the treatment team to ensure optimal outcomes and compliance with all applicable laws
- Provide crisis intervention, care planning, and medication management, and develop treatment plans for patients
- Perform psychiatric assessments, including evaluation of alcohol and drug abuse
- Interpret test results, provide recommendations for treatment, and initiate psychopharmacologic treatment
- Provide ongoing assessment and follow-up of patient’s progress
- Develop effective referral sources, and collaborate with other team members to identify appropriate treatment
- Make referrals to outside agencies for eligible patients
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with referral sources, customers, suppliers, and partners
- Engage in continuing education to stay current with research and developments in psychiatry
- Work collaboratively with other team members
- Attend and participate in meetings and appointments as needed
- Perform other job duties as assigned
Requirements And Skills:
- Doctorate in psychiatrist or Ph.D. in addiction studies
- 5+ years’ experience treating opioid and other substance use disorders
- Expertise in evidence-based treatment and treatment protocols for opioid and other substance use disorders
- Expertise in medical and psychiatric medications used to treat opioid and other substance use disorders
