Basketball Coach Duties:
- Coach and teach basketball fundamentals to high school and club level players, track progress, and assess student performance
- Evaluate players’ strengths and weaknesses and help them improve
- Provide feedback and suggestions to players
- Conduct drills, practice, and play games
- Assign and oversee practice schedules and monitor player form
- Create and maintain player schedules
- Maintain player records and communicate performance to parents
- Develop and implement practices, drills, and strategies
- Coordinate with high school coaches to develop team strategies
- Maintain equipment inventory and oversee cleaning and maintenance
Basketball Coach Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain a safe and healthy culture within team
- Develop and implement coaching and training program
- Co-ordinate practice schedules, game schedules, and player attendance
- Provide constant feedback and communicate performance expectations
- Coach players through practice, competition, and off-season
- Construct and maintain a training manual
- Conduct ongoing evaluation of players and program
- Recruit, train and motivate players and staff
- Recruit, coach, and evaluate assistant coaches
- Provide compensation and benefits to staff
Requirements And Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Height of 6’3”
- Excellent knowledge of basketball
- Ability to motivate and lead players
- Experience coaching high school, college, or professional basketball
- Proper knowledge of basketball rules and strategy
