Job Brief:

Biomedical Engineer Duties:

  • Create and edit technical reports, presentations, and other written correspondence
  • Analyze and evaluate plans and blueprints to ensure satisfactory completion and compliance with project objectives
  • Conduct investigations and experiments to test materials and equipment
  • Research, develop and evaluate design changes, as well as new materials and equipment to ensure compatibility and functionality
  • Criticize and suggest improvements for existing equipment and systems to ensure efficiency
  • Assist in the planning and construction of a laboratory or other facility

Biomedical Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical and administrative support to the entire department, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, planning events, managing department budgets, and maintaining staff files
  • Obtain, review, and process expense reports, financial documents, and requests for reimbursement
  • Manage requests for patents, trademarks, and copyrights
  • Perform market research, including evaluating existing product lines to develop new products
  • Create and maintain department databases to track project progress
  • Develop, maintain, and update departmental training materials and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements And Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in biomedical engineering from an accredited university
  • 2+ years’ experience in engineering-related position
  • Knowledge of biomedical instrumentation
  • Knowledge of electronics and computer engineering
  • Knowledge of analytical methods (ideally work involving applications in a life science application)
