We’re looking for a Career Counselor to help people choose the right career path, find the right job, and advance in their chosen field.
Career Counselor Duties:
- Provide career guidance and counseling for students
- Assist students with career-related decisions, including helping to identify career paths, preparing resumes, and identifying career options
- Work closely with group participants on presentations, assignments, and projects
- Provide assistance with program-related questions
- Develop and maintain relationships with employers
- Assist with job search efforts through job fairs, networking opportunities, etc.
Career Counselor Responsibilities:
- Assist clients in identifying transferable skills, education, and experience, and in developing job search strategies
- Assist in setting up educational, professional, or career planning sessions
- Assist in career counseling, including interview preparation, résumé development, and job search strategies
- Coach clients in developing interview and career strategies
- Develop and implement strategies to attract clients and keep productivity high
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients and co-workers
- Maintain confidentiality of client records
- Develop and maintain organizational systems to maintain client files and records
- Conduct intake, assessment, and pre-service planning sessions
- Provide crisis intervention, case management, and referral services

Requirements And Skills:
- Experience working in an academic setting; college degree, work experience, and letters of recommendation required
- Ability to assess students’ needs and make appropriate referrals
- Knowledge of financial aid, college planning, and career services
