Carpet Installer Job Description

A carpet installer is a person who installs carpet in a customer’s home or business.

Job Brief:

We’re looking for Carpet Installer to work with us on a new project. We need someone with experience installing carpet and who is available to start immediately.

Carpet Installer Duties:

• Install carpet, padding, and vinyl on floors, walls, stairs, and ceilings
• Provide carpet stretching, tiling, and related installation services as needed
• Run errands, pick up supplies, and dispose of waste
• Working knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and machines
• Ability to use chemical retardants and adhesives
• Skilled in basic carpentry
• Ability to use hand and power tools
• Ability to install carpet, padding, and vinyl on floors, walls, stairs, and ceilings

Carpet Installer Responsibilities:

• Install carpet and hard surface flooring in commercial and residential settings, using project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project)
• Complete tasks in accordance with job specifications and quality standards
• Install a variety of flooring products and materials, including carpet, tile, hardwood, and laminate
• Install carpet for both residential and commercial uses
• Maintain professional appearance and clothing; follow all safety guidelines and regulations
• Maintain a clean and orderly workspace
• Complete daily timesheets on job needed
• Complete all quality checklists

Requirements And Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Two years of carpet installation experience
• Able to walk on uneven surfaces up and down stairs
• Excellent attention to detail
• Able to work up to 8-10 hours per day, 5 days per week
