Concrete Finisher Job Description

A concrete finisher is someone who places the finish coats of concrete onto the surface.

Concrete finishers are responsible for ensuring that a smooth and polished finish is achieved.

This may involve the use of trowels, float, trowels, and masons saws.

Concrete finishers also use a moisture meter to ensure that concrete is sufficiently dry to the touch.

Job Brief:

We’re looking for a Concrete Finisher to join our team. The Concrete Finisher will be responsible for finishing concrete surfaces, using hand and power tools. The ideal candidate will have experience in concrete finishing, and will be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Concrete Finisher Duties:

• Perform all phases of concrete finishing operations
• Assist in planning, organizing, and conducting trades on concrete projects
• Assist in estimating, bidding, and completing concrete projects
• Assist in installation of forms, scaffolding, conduit, cable, and wire
• Check specifications, plans, drawings, and work orders to ensure project specifications are specified in regard to material, form, and workmanship
• Assist in preparation, handling, and pouring concrete
• Maintain safe, clean, and efficient work areas
• Perform other duties as assigned

Concrete Finisher Responsibilities:

• Apply decorative finishes to concrete surfaces, using trowels, trowel blades, brooms, and squeegees
• Mix and apply materials using wheelbarrows, concrete grinders, and cement mixers
• Finish concrete surfaces and match concrete colors to specifications, using ultraviolet curing equipment and thermal curing ovens
• Remove dust and debris from work surfaces and clean up spills
• Provide training to other concrete finishers

Requirements And Skills:

• Must have 5+ years concrete finishing experience
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Must have a valid driver’s license, current insurance, and a clean driving record
