Construction Estimator Duties:

Construction Estimator Responsibilities:
- Develop accurate cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracting, based on an understanding of scope, specifications, and work flow, while managing schedules, budgets, time constraints, and risk
- Develop and maintain expert knowledge in structural and civil engineering, architectural, and construction practices
- Create and maintain project schedules using professional software
- Maintain a working knowledge of building codes and standards and design practices and procedures
- Prepare and deliver proposals and quotations to potential project owners
- Perform feasibility studies, such as cost estimating and bid analysis
- Ensure the successful completion of projects by tracking costs, monitoring deadlines, and managing available resources
- Get to know contractors, subcontractors, and vendors
- Maintain a working knowledge of local, state, and federal requirements
Requirements And Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, business administration, or other related field
- 2+ years’ proven experience estimating construction costs
- Knowledge of building materials, quantities, and labor required for a wide variety of construction types
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
