Job Brief:
We’re looking for a Design Drafter to join our team. As a Design Drafter, you will be responsible for creating drawings and specifications for our products. If you have experience in product design or drafting, we want you!
Design Drafter Duties:
- Operate a variety of drafting equipment to create and update construction drawings, technical designs, and sketches
- Participate in planning/design meetings
- Propose new design concepts
- Design diagrams, schematics, or plans
- Conduct on-site inspections to verify plans and specifications are met
- Assist other design staff as needed
Design Drafter Responsibilities:
- Develop drawings according to engineering specifications and instructions using CAD software
- Prepare preliminary shop drawings for fabrication using CAD software
- Prepare shop drawings for fabrication using CAD software
- Design, modify, and revise drawings as required
- Assist in the selection of engineering materials and equipment
- Attend project meetings and review products, projects, and drawings as needed
- Track and evaluate performance
Requirements And Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil or mechanical engineering, or related field
- 2+ years of drafting and design experience with residential, commercial, and municipal projects
- Knowledge of building codes, materials, and techniques
- Excellent communication skills required
