Design Engineer Duties:

• Assist in the design, development, and testing of products
• Work within a team to develop, implement, and test new product designs and concepts

• Develop documentation to support engineering activities
• Maintain and improve company quality standards
• Lead analysis of existing product designs, processes, and standards
• Act as an advocate to management for the improvement of design
• Research and develop new technologies
• Meet tight deadlines

Design Engineer Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and test layouts, schematics, and diagrams for electrical distribution systems
• Convert technical drawings into electrical wiring diagrams
• Complete engineering calculations on electrical systems
• Review installation plans and specs to determine feasibility and accuracy of installation
• Create job plans detailing scope of work, estimated hours, and labor required for each phase of electrical work
• Research update codes, standards, and regulations, and identify new ways to meet customer needs
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements And Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field
• Experience designing facilities and equipment
• Experience in mechanical engineering
• Experience in computer-aided design (CAD)
• Experience with building systems design
• Excellent computer skills
