Event Host Duties:
- Stay current with industry trends by maintaining and updating knowledge of new events, new technology, and new ideas
- Provide event-related information to management, staff, and customers
- Assist customers with their individual needs
- Determine what information is needed for each event and where that information can be found
- Work with management to determine event-related goals, objectives, and priorities
- Develop and follow through on action plans to accomplish goals
- Coordinate with staff to arrange event logistics
- Organize facilities, equipment, and personnel
- Assist with setup, break down, and transportation of event materials
- Provide general upkeep of facilities
- Hire, train, schedule, and evaluate staff members
- Evaluate new event-related ideas
- Support all operational and promotional effort
Event Host Responsibilities:
- Provide superior customer service to guests at events
- Coordinate with event planners, caterers, and vendors, and resolve any issues to ensure the event runs smoothly
- Process special food and beverage orders for events, comply with health regulations, maintain adequate inventory, and oversee order fulfillment
- Perform duties such as bar-tending, serving food, and greeting guests
- Maintain event properties, including guest rooms, common areas, meeting rooms, and event facilities
- Maintain Point of Sale systems, including updating inventory, pricing, and ordering as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements And Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 1 year of experience in a hospitality environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
