Finance Director Job Description

A chief financial officer (CFO) is a professional who oversees and directs the financial activities of a corporation.

The CFO’s role is to help direct the financial management of the company.

Job Brief:

We’re looking for a Finance Director to oversee our financial department and make sure our finances are in order. As our Finance Director, you will be responsible for developing and implementing financial plans, overseeing financial accounting and reporting, and managing our budget. You will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with financial regulations and laws. Finance Director Duties:

• Investigate new investment opportunities, analyze and recommend investments, and initiate partnerships and joint ventures
• Develop financial strategies and assess investment opportunities
• Maintain current financial status, preparing financial forecasts, and determining funding needs
• Maintain accurate records of financial resources and performance
• Maintain compliance with all financial laws and regulations
• Maintain necessary insurance to protect property, resources, and employees

Finance Director Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and improve accounting policies and procedures; oversee payroll, accounts payable, and receivable
• Create and revise AP and AR procedures; develop and implement a monthly close process
• Review and approve AP and AR invoices; approve or reject invoices as appropriate
• Develop and monitor a budget process to ensure proper expenditures and revenues
• Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls

Requirements And Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree with a major in business, finance, accounting, or a related field
• 3+ years experience in financial analysis, reporting, budgeting, or financial planning
• Strong financial analysis skills
• Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
• Strong organizational and supervisory abilities
