Geotechnical Engineer Job Description
A Geo-technical engineer is a professional with extensive experience in the field of engineering geology.
Geo-technical engineers work on projects related to soil, rocks, groundwater, and structures.
Typically, Geo-technical engineers have a background as a civil engineer, a geologist, a structural engineer, or a combination of the two.
The work of Geo-technical engineers involves analyzing conditions on construction sites.
These engineers analyze soil conditions, design foundations for structures, and determine if the structures can safely be built.
Geo-technical engineers help to determine the construction cost, environmental effects, and structural integrity of structures.
