Guidance Counselor Duties:
- Investigate, identify, and plan counseling intervention services
- Communicate with parents, teachers, and other school personnel to understand students’ needs, academic progress, and social development
- Provide individual, group, and classroom guidance counseling
- Provide feedback to parents and teachers on student progress and development
- Provide guidance counseling and resources to assist students in overcoming barriers to learning
- Identify and intervene with at-risk students
- Maintain records on all counseling services

Guidance Counselor Responsibilities:
- Plan and administer student activities; lead extracurricular activities, such as sports teams or clubs; teach students study and organizational skills

Requirements And Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 21+ years of education and counseling experience
- Strong computer and Microsoft Office skills
- Knowledge of social, personal, and academic issues
- Proven experience motivating high school students
