Handyman Job Description

A handyman is a person who provides services usually for residential and / or commercial repairs, maintenance, and renovation.

Job Brief:

We’re looking for a Handyman to come and help us with some odd jobs around the house. We would really appreciate it if you could come and take a look at our to-do list and see if there is anything you can help us with. Thank you so much!

Handyman Duties:

• Perform repairs, maintenance and housekeeping work associated with residential and light commercial structures
• Establish and maintain good relationships with clients/customers
• Ability to develop work order procedures, estimates, and estimates
• Ability to provide consistent customer service and quality
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to complete projects on time and within budget
• Ability to use basic tools, measurements, and calculations
• Ability to perform physical labor

Handyman Responsibilities:

• Make minor repairs; install, assemble, and disassemble a variety of fixtures, equipment, and furnishings; maintain inventory; move and load items as necessary; clean and sanitize work areas
• Caulk and putty walls, replace doors, and install and hang hardware, including locks
• Repair, refinish, and refinish furniture, cabinets, and other wood products
• Rebuild and replace flooring, carpeting, and tile
• Install and operate a variety of equipment, including computers, printers, and copy machines
• Assemble and install cabinets, bookshelves, and shelves
• Install drywall, plaster, and other wall and ceiling systems
• Install windows and doors, including weather stripping, storm doors, and window screens
• Install equipment, hardware, fixtures, and appliances

Requirements And Skills:

• Ability to repair and maintain basic home systems
• Proficient with basic tools, including hand and power tools
• Proven experience performing general maintenance and upkeep, including landscaping, yard work, and cleaning
• Ability to safely operate tools in satisfactory manner
• Good customer service skills
