Lawn Care Technician Job Description

A lawn care technician or lawn technician is a type of home maintenance worker that performs lawn care services (such as lawn care cutting) on residential lawns.

Lawn care technicians typically work outside on lawns, landscaping, and in gardens.

Some lawn care technicians work in greenhouses, nurseries, and greenhouses.

Lawn care technicians may spend most of their time working outdoors, but they may spend some working hours indoors at an office or working at a computer.

They may also spend time on a vehicle driving to and between jobs.

Job Brief:

We’re looking for Lawn Care Technician to provide year-round lawn care and landscape maintenance services to our clients. As a Lawn Care Technician, you will be responsible for mowing, edging, trimming, and blowing lawns; applying herbicides, insecticides, and fertilizers; and performing other general lawn care and landscape maintenance duties. The ideal candidate for this position will have previous experience working in the lawn care or landscaping industry, and will be able to work independently with little supervision. Lawn Care Technician Duties:

• Maintain, repair, or mow turf; remove sticks, rocks, and weeds from lawns
• Remove dead foliage
• Reseed lawns
• Pour water, fertilizer, and insecticides over lawns
• Maintain sprinkler systems
• Renovate lawns for special events or public appearances
• Establish lawn maintenance schedules

Lawn Care Technician Responsibilities:

• Drive the delivery truck to and from scheduled lawn care customers
• Provide lawn care service and  mow, edge, and trim lawns
• Balance lawns, trim overhanging branches, and trim shrubs
• Collect and dispose of grass clippings
• Provide seasonal landscape service
• Pick up completed work order
• Drive around later to drop off completed work orders
• Assist in snow removal
• Perform minor mechanical work on mower and trucks
• Help with customer service, maintenance, and janitorial duties

Requirements And Skills:

• Knowledge of basic landscaping and lawn maintenance practices
• Knowledge of lawn care equipment
• Ability to run equipment and maintain proper usage and care
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to perform physical labor
