Litigation Paralegal Duties:
- Collaborate with attorneys in formulating strategies, drafting pleadings, and researching case law
- Track legal cases, including preparation of court documents
- Provide administrative support for attorneys
- Gather supporting documents for case files
- Record oral testimony
- Prepare legal documents, including wills and other contracts
- Prepare and organize files for trial
Litigation Paralegal Responsibilities:
- Maintain, update, and file all case files in accordance with court rules, court decisions, and practices and procedures of the firm’s practice area
- Prepare documents for court appearances, hearings, depositions, and other hearings
- Assist with setting up and coordinating depositions
- Prepare correspondence and responses, draft emails, and manage calendar schedule
- Attend hearings and be prepared to take notes and file all documents related to the case
- Assist with document production and gathering evidence
- Track, record, and document all evidentiary matters, including obtaining, reviewing, storing, and removing documents
- Serve as liaison between firm departments and client / attorney, and draft correspondence and responses to client inquiries
- Initiate and maintain relationships with courthouse personnel, judges, and opposing counsel
- Provide backup for attorneys and paralegals
Requirements And Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in any field
- 2+ years experience in a litigation support role, preferably in a law firm
- Experience in developing legal documents and documents for deposition
- Preferred knowledge of legal terminology
