We’re looking for a Materials Manager who can oversee the procurement and supply of materials for our company. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that we have the raw materials and supplies necessary to meet our production goals. You will also be responsible for negotiating contracts with suppliers and managing our inventory levels. Materials Manager Duties:
- Manage the materials department, ensuring proper inventory levels, and employee schedules are adhered to
- Promote and maintain professional relationships with customers, vendors, and employees
- Maintain records of all supplies, inventory, and equipment
Materials Manager Responsibilities:
- Supervise all purchasing, inventory, and quality control activities
- Oversee all incoming and outgoing materials, including receiving, storage, and shipment
- Maintain records of all materials, including quantity, source, and destination
- Research products, prices, and vendors to ensure quality, availability, and price competitiveness
- Keep abreast of all changes in the industry, including new materials and innovative solutions, and advise senior management
- Assist with financial reporting and inventory reconciliation
- Train employees on use of materials, equipment, and facilities
- Develop and implement best practices and quality control systems
- Train employees on safety, about the company’s quality policy, and about any new equipment or systems
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure availability of materials and competitive pricing
- Provide input and recommendations to senior management on future projects, materials, and facilities
Requirements And Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in materials management, engineering, or construction
- 6+ years of experience project management of construction and/or materials projects
- Knowledge of construction methods and technologies, and ability to interpret technical drawings and contracts
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a constant eye on quality
