Nurse Educator Duties
- Develop, coordinate, and oversee curriculum for nursing programs
- Develop curricula that meet the educational needs and goals of the students
- Develop and implement educational guidelines pertaining to curriculum for students, faculty, and staff
- Provide guidance and feedback to others to strengthen specific knowledge/skill areas

- Oversee the educational budget and/or manage the allocation of these funds

Nurse Educator Responsibilities
- Implement programs for training nurses in patient care and nursing skills, and oversee nurses’ performance
- Train nurses through classroom training, clinicals, and simulation labs
- Provide direction, coaching, and mentoring to nursing personnel
- Develop and revise training programs, curricula, and instructional materials
- Additional responsibilities may include collaborating with schools and community groups, conducting academic assessments, and reviewing student performance
- Develop and maintain computer applications, including e-learning, self-assessment, reports, and databases
- Participate in research, attend conferences, and present information on nursing developments
- Facilitate performance improvement activities
- Promote positive employee relations
- Resolve conflicts among nursing personnel
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Requirements and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing
- 3+ years experience in quality/education/training/administrative work
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent computer skills, including Word, Powerpoint, and Excel
