The Nursing Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the nursing staff and ensuring that all patients receive the best possible care. Nursing Supervisor Duties:
- Create, implement, and evaluate programs, policies, and procedures to meet the organization’s goals
- Oversee and coordinate nursing staff
- Manage staffing, scheduling, recruiting, training, and retention
- Ensure compliance with all staffing and licensing requirements
- Develop staffing models, standards, and procedures
- Maintain staff development programs and operations
- Ensure that service, programs, and resources meet customer needs and are cost-effective
- Measure effectiveness of the Nursing Department and maximize job satisfaction
Nursing Supervisor Responsibilities:
- Supervise assigned nursing staff to ensure the highest standards of quality and patient comfort are met, and perform patient rounds as needed
- Provide optimal care plans, medication reconciliation, patient transfers, patient assessments, and health and personal care
- Manage staff hiring and scheduling, including orientation, performance reviews, and performance feedback
- Partner with physicians, supervisors, and managers to develop and implement policies and procedures, and successfully resolve nursing issues
Requirements And Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field
- 2+ years experience in supervising clinical nursing staff
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations
- Ability to make sound medical decisions
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with nursing staff and patients
