Operations Research Analyst Job Description

They most often focus on the challenges of supply chain management and supply chain design.

Operations research analysts also work on supply chain optimization, which considers factors such as inventory, capacity, and capacity utilization.

Job Brief:

We’re looking for an Operations Research Analyst to join our team. The Operations Research Analyst will be responsible for analyzing data and developing models to support decision making in a variety of areas including but not limited to: transportation, inventory, supply chain, and manufacturing. The position will work closely with other analysts and decision makers to understand business problems and develop solutions that improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Operations Research Analyst Duties:

• Research and formulate solutions to business problems by applying mathematical, statistical, and quantitative methods
• Identify, collect, and analyze data in order to develop predictive models
• Verify results using statistical methods
• Communicate findings to decision makers
• Submit reports, data, and reports
• Develop and implement testing plans to evaluate effectiveness of solutions
• Creates new business models and processes
• Exploration of new technologies and developments
• Performs other duties as assigned

Operations Research Analyst Responsibilities:

• Perform financial analysis, risk assessment, and financial modeling
• Work closely with legal, safety, and accounting staff to develop emerging risk exposure
• Perform due diligence and data analysis for mergers and acquisitions
• Conduct financial and operational analysis for assessing market-entry opportunities
• Develop and document financial modeling for new product launches and acquisitions

Requirements And Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in Operations Research, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or similar field
• 5+ years of experience in operations research and analysis
• Analytical, technical, and conceptual skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
