Park Ranger Duties
- Responsible for patrolling and developing recreational resources for the park.
- Responsible for overseeing the safety of the visitors as well as ensuring the park’s amenities.
- Monitor the picnic areas and campgrounds
- Keep the park neat and presentable
- Open and close the park gates
- Maintain all park facilities
- Ensure the park is in proper working order
- Maintain the park’s records
- Cooperate with other park personnel and departments
Park Ranger Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures for daily and weekly operations in accordance with agency standards
- Maintain accurate financial records, including income and expense records, payroll records, and property records
- Maintain records of all park activities, including group bookings
- Handle public inquiries about parks, programs, and fees
- Provide outstanding customer service
- Perform routine cleaning of buildings, facilities, and grounds
- Procure and maintain equipment and supplies
- Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with other county employees, public agencies, and departments
Requirements And Skills
- First aid and CPR certification.
- Physical fitness to work outdoors.
- Strong communication skills.
- Many park rangers must also successfully complete a training academy, similar to that of law enforcement
