Programmer Analyst Job Description

Programmer Analyst Duties:

• Develop and maintain software by planning, analyzing, designing, testing, and implementing applications or systems; troubleshooting problems that arise throughout the development life cycle of computer programs and systems; resolving problems, if any
• Protect company systems by monitoring usage for malicious or fraudulent activities
• Provide technical support to employees and customers
• Perform research and recommend or implement new, more efficient operational procedures based on analysis of existing processes and systems
• Conduct tours of facility and assist with employee training

Programmer Analyst Responsibilities:

• Performs programming analysis and design tasks, and generates program code according to specifications and business needs
• Participates in the creation of program documentation; apply knowledge for software development and troubleshooting
• Work with management and users to resolve application problems
• Supports application development, Platform Center, and developer tools
• Implements standards in code development, deployment, and documentation; provides guidance to others

Requirements And Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer information systems, computer science, or related field
• 2+ years professional IT experience; Microsoft Certification is desired
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Solid problem-solving skills with analytical sophistication
• Knowledge of software engineering best practices
