Protective Services Worker Duties:
- Protect the health and safety of individuals, property, and facilities by performing inspection, evaluation, testing, and/or maintenance work; by performing tasks related to detection and deterrence of theft, vandalism, and/or terrorism
- Protect individuals, property, and/or facilities by monitoring conditions, performing activities to reduce risk, and/or providing emergency response
- Protect individuals, property, and/or facilities by performing activities related to detection, deterrence, and/or investigation of theft, vandalism, and/or terrorism
Protective Services Worker Responsibilities:
- Protect employees, customers, and property from harm by monitoring intruders, monitoring security and fire systems, and safeguarding property from fires, disasters, and injuries
- Protect assigned areas by patrolling premises and parking lots, observing and responding to behavior or situations indicative of criminal activity, fire, or other emergencies, reporting violations of company policies, and identifying opportunities for security and crime prevention
- Locate, identify, and apprehend trespassers
- Secure perimeter of building, parking areas, and parking garages
- Proactively report any suspicious or criminal activity
- Make rounds to monitor access points, and inspect the placement of signage, barriers, and locks
- Perform maintenance and upkeep on security systems, including ensuring cameras and alarms are operational
- Document all incidents and actions taken
- Perform routine vehicle and equipment checks
- Maintain accurate records
Requirements And Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in a security-related field; or 2+ years’ proven experience in a protection services field
- Knowledge of emergency preparedness, crisis mitigation, and disaster response training
- Knowledge of mass shootings, and other violent crimes; and ability to mitigate the threats they pose
