Record Producer Job Description

A record producer is a person or company that creates and releases records or music.

Record producers are often songwriters, artists, or musicians.

Others may be music producers, who work alongside songwriters and artists to create musical productions.

Record producers may oversee recording sessions, provide artistic guidance, and recruit musicians.

Record Producer Duties:

• Develop relationships with clients to establish themselves as trusted professionals
• Provide personalized attention and service to clients in order to cultivate long-term business relationships
• Develop relationships with potential new clients and develop new clients
• Build company website and online accounts to establish company as a recognized and trusted authority
• Ensure timely communication between clients, staff, and vendors
• Meet or exceed company revenue, profit, and growth goals
• Create and implement promotional strategies
• Identify and develop new marketing channels
• Create, manage, revise, write, and disseminate company’s marketing collateral
• Develop company’s current marketing plan and sharpen its focus
• Research, evaluate, and recommend new marketing opportunities
• Develop and implement measures to measure marketing performance

Record Producer Responsibilities:

• Create music, sound effects, and voice recordings for broadcast, film, and video game projects
• Perform auditions for voice actors and musicians
• Develop scripts and storylines for animation and video games
• Proofread scripts and records
• Perform sound effects for film, animation, and video games
• Edit and process recordings
• Perform voiceovers for film, animation, and video games
• Assist with talent recordings
• Assist with composers and musicians

Requirements And Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in broadcast communications or related field
• 3+ years of experience producing and posting weekly content.
• Knowledge of recording technology, including video and audio equipment and software
• Strong organization skills and ability to prioritize projects
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to interact with independent radio stations
