SAP Business Analyst Job Description

A Business Analyst (BA) is a specialized professional who works to analyze, document, and report on business initiatives.

The Business Analyst is a key part of the overall project team, responsible for gathering business requirements in order to define, design, and implement the requirements.

The Business Analyst must have strong skills in business analysis, business process analysis, requirements gathering, data modeling, and user interface design.

Once these requirements have been identified, the Business Analyst will use this knowledge to create analysis reports, develop functional specifications, and document all findings.

SAP Business Analyst Duties:

• Work with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to track, analyze, and manage financials, human resources, and operations, including supply chain management
• Conduct regular reviews with management to review the company’s monthly financials, conduct cost/benefit analyses, and assess the productivity of employees
• Assist management in the development and improvement of business processes and procedures
• Consult with management on the maintenance of IT systems and applications
• Develop and refine company’s strategy and plan for achieving goals
• Maintain accurate financial records and prepare detailed reports and analyses

SAP Business Analyst Responsibilities:

• Obtain and analyze business requirements for SAP ERP systems and coordinate with SAP project teams in defining system and solution requirements
• Provide detailed design solutions to business users for SAP ERP modules, including entering business rules for new modules that interface with SAP ERP modules
• Develop and maintain functional specifications for SAP ERP modules and customization interfaces
• Test SAP ERP modules and customizations for successful implementation
• Conduct routine SAP ERP system administration and system upgrades
• Perform complex data migration projects
• Work with SAP consultants in interfacing external systems to SAP ERP
• Research and implement new SAP ERP software features
• Create and maintain system documentation
• Attend training sessions and perform other duties as directed

Requirements And Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in a business field, 8+ years SAP experience, 4+ SAP HR experience
• Ability to interpret SAP data and perform complex calculations
• Ability to understand and integrate SAP solutions into business processes
• Strong knowledge of SAP payroll, general ledger .
